Relax & Recharge: After epic catches, unwind on our comfortable 'Amazon Angler' Houseboat and feast on delicious meals. This ain't roughing it!
Our 'all inclusive' jungle adventure trips are based out of Manaus by floatplane on our brand-new 'The Amazon Angler' Houseboat on our Middle Fishery and also on the Rio Negro and tributaries. As well as big Peacock Bass, our anglers can catch other species that hit lures and flies too.

The Fishing

Hold onto your hats, fishing fanatics! We’re about to embark on an epic Amazon adventure chasing legendary Peacock Bass!

Imagine this: vast lagoons teeming with ferocious fish, each one a battler ready to explode on your lure. The Southern lagoons hold the mighty Cichla pinima Peacock Bass reaching a whopping 24lbs. Up north, in the Rio Negro, lurk the even bigger Cichla temensis Peacock Bass tipping the scales at a jaw-dropping 30lbs!

These gladiators lurk around fallen trees, rocky drop-offs, and sandy beaches, waiting to ambush their prey. Our specially designed 18ft skiffs, with 30HP engines and electric trolling motors, will take you right into the heart of the action. And hey, if your guide take you to a hidden lagoon, no problem! These boats are light enough to be dragged right in, giving you access to untouched fishing grounds.

Just imagine the fight! A monstrous Peacock Bass explodes on your surface lure, the sound of the strike shocking and exhilarating. These fish are full of pure aggression, putting on a dazzling display of speed and power as they battle for their freedom.

The Amazon is a land of dramatic seasons. During the rainy season, the rivers swell, transforming the landscape into a flooded jungle. The fish follow the baitfish deep into the flooded areas, making them nearly impossible to find. But once the rains stop, the magic happens. The water levels recede, squeezing the fish back into the rivers and lagoons, creating the PRIME TIME for epic Peacock Bass fishing!

These warriors love structure, so cast your lures around points, beaches, fallen trees, and drop-offs. Topwater lures like prop-baits, poppers, and walk-the-dog baits are their kryptonite. If you prefer subsurface battles, jerk/minnow baits, and specialized bucktail jigs will do the trick. Fly fishing enthusiasts, rejoice! With the right flies and conditions, you can land a whole stack of Peacock Bass.

But wait, there’s more! The Amazon is a treasure trove of incredible fish. Arowanas, with their acrobatic leaps, will test your medium tackle skills. Traira/Wolfish, lurk in the shadows, ready to ambush your lures. Bicuda, lightning-fast and fierce, will put on an aerial show. For some toothy fun, tangle with Dogfish/Freshwater Barracuda with a vicious bite. The vibrantly-colored Jacundá might be small, but they fight like champions. And of course, no Amazon trip is complete without encountering the ever-present Piranhas! These notorious scavengers will happily chomp on anything you throw their way.

Keep your eyes peeled for majestic Surubim Catfish cruising the sandy beaches. These whiskered wonders can grow to over 30lbs and put up a fight you won’t forget. And for the ultimate challenge, grab a cold beverage during the day in the shade and target Redtail and Piraiba Catfish, giants of the deep that demand heavy tackle (although this is best done in the early morning and early evening to avoid the constant pickings of Piranhas).

Power through the day: Our packed lunches keep you fueled for extended fishing trips mile away from the houseboat. Prefer a hot meal and a break from the midday sun? Then enjoy a great BBQ’d shore-lunch made by your guide and a snooze in hammocks in the shade under the trees. Or you can return to the houseboat and savor a delicious lunch, followed by some relaxing downtime in your air-conditioned room until it cools down.

This is far more than just a fishing trip; it’s an adventure for the whole family, couples, partners or even solo anglers. If you’re on your own, we’ll partner you up on your fishing boat with another solo angler. Experience the thrill of the strike, the comfort of our awesome boats, and the breathtaking beauty of the Amazon Rainforest. Are you ready for this? Then let’s go fishing!

An upper deck provides ample space to get everything organized before your epic Amazon assault.

And let’s talk food! Our fully-staffed kitchen provides culinary delights. Imagine sumptuous buffet-style meals prepared by our chefs, fueling you for epic battles on the water. But the indulgence doesn’t stop there. Weather permitting, one night a week transforms into an unforgettable soirée.
