Sardinata

Golden Glory: The Mighty Sardine of the Amazon

The Golden Sardinata isn't your average sardine! Found throughout the Amazon, these fish reach impressive sizes, especially in Colombia's Rio Orinoco. They're aggressive feeders, readily attacking a variety of lures and baits. Smaller subsurface lures, spinners, flies, and jigs are all on the menu, and they'll erupt on small topwater poppers and stickbaits like a Tuna feeding frenzy.

The current record stands at an impressive 9lbs, but with reports of fish reaching 14 pounds, it seems the record is ripe for the breaking. Are you ready to challenge these Amazonian bruisers?
