Dwiftwood Catfish

This remarkable member of the Catfish family has no whiskers! Also known as the Fidalgo, Palmito and Mandubé, it is a hunter par excellence and will attack all manner of lures, livebaits and cutbaits.

It has a strange small dorsal fin which looks nearly on top of its head and tiny eyes either side of its huge trapdoor mouth. It can reach 15lbs but a 5-6lb free-lined fish is the perfect livebait size to use to target huge Piraiba/Lau Catfish.
