Trip Introduction
Amazon adventure fishing trip on the Rio Guaviare in pristine Amazon rainforest for fly, lure and bait anglers. You will fish one of the most beautiful rivers for an abundance of sport fish species including 4 species of Giant Peacock Bass, the legendary Payara 'Vampire Fish', 'Golden Poon' Sardinata, Bicuda, Giant Tambaqui and Pacu, huge Cats and much more ......
The Fishing
Our anglers will have the opportunity to fish for multi-species with huge Three-Barred Peacocks with three more species of Peacocks with topwater propbaits, walking baits, poppers, spinner-baits, jigs, minnowbaits and flies in then many lagoons and river points.
Monster Payaras are in the fast water and cascades and can be caught on deep divers and other deep lures and flies, and Sardinata on small poppers and jigs/flies.
There are also huge Pacu and Tambaqui here on flies, lures and baits with many Pescada, Matrinxã and Jatuarana and much more on smaller lures and flies.
And to top it off, we target massive Piraiba/Goliath, Jau and Redtail Cats along with a whole other bunch of smaller Cats and ‘crazies’ to play with.
The Accommodation
Our ‘tented’ safari lodge is set against a beautiful backdrop and has views to the river. Each room has twin beds and hard timber floorboards, making for totally comfortable accommodations throughout. A large ‘eating/chilling’ area has everything a group of anglers would need with great food and the drinks flowing freely ……
Travel Plan
DAY 1, 2 and 3: TOUR STARTS – arrive in Bogota, transfer to 4* Marriott Courtyard hotel by hotel van and overnight. The following day flight in the afternoon to San José and spend the night in town. The next day depart at 6 am on a 8 hour boat ride on a large covered boat with a 200hp engine to arrive at the lodge. You will arrive to the lodge in the afternoon and after an introduction and settling into your tented accommodation, you are welcome to go for some catfish fishing by the lodge before dinner.
Day 4 – 10: seven full days guided fishing on three different tributaries.
Day 11: boat ride back to San José and afternoon flight to Bogota. Hotel van transfer to your hotel and overnight – TOUR ENDS
Day 12: onwards journey home
