The camps are both similar in design to cater for up to 15 anglers each trip. Both camps comprise individual tents for privacy, with large, comfortable air mattresses for each fisherman under a large canopy for shelter, laundry services, bathrooms, kitchen, social area, satellite telephone and electricity, etc. deep in the Amazon jungle.
Each camp has been perfectly designed to suit solo anglers, couples, partners and even families, to experience some of the best Peacock Bass adventure fishing in the whole of the Amazon Basin.
While we primarily target Giant Peacock Bass with lures, jigs and flies, there is such a diversity of species to be caught on our trips here.
The hard-fighting, aggressive Peacock Bass (here we have Cichla pinima species growing to over 20lbs) are the toughest and meanest freshwater fish found anywhere in the world. These amazing predators grow big and can be caught on prop baits, walk-the-dog lures like spooks and skitter walks, poppers and on jigs, flies and minnow baits. They will explode with such ferocity on lures worked across the surface.
Some great Catfish species can also be targeted including two species of Surubim (Cachara and Caparari), small Piraiba (Filhote), Redtails and more.
Also on lures, jigs and flies, anglers anglers can also catch a whole bunch of different species, from Bicuda, Monkey Fish/Arowana, pretty Red Spot/Jacunda to the downright ugly Crocodile perch/Traira. Matrinxã will also take flies, small spinners, spoons and small minnow and surface lures and make great fresh bait for Cats! Piranhas are ever-present and are fun to catch on light tackle.
